— And Why I’m Okay With That.
My work is not light and airy or dark and moody, it’s not film or all black and white — and it is not meant to be. Even though I love each and everyone of those.
I’m drawn to natural, warmth, rich tones, honest emotion, movement, and images that feel like real life. The in-between moments. The laughter that wasn’t planned. The way your child reaches for your hand. The quiet moments during a wedding day that somehow end up meaning just as much as the big ones.
In a world where photography trends constantly change, it can feel easy as a creative to question yourself.
Should I edit lighter? Should I edit darker? Add more grain? Make the skin smoother?
Should I follow what everyone else is doing?
Should I change my style to fit what’s popular right now?
Truthfully, I’ve thought about it before. But every time I come back to the same thing — I want your photos to feel real and as they were that moment. The colors, the light and all of it. I want your gallery to feel the way those moments actually felt.
My editing style stays true to life: warm skin tones, depth, authentic color, emotion, and connection. Occasionally I’ll incorporate a little film-inspired grain or softness depending on the session, but overall, my goal is never to overly alter a moment. It’s to preserve it beautifully and honestly. I do add some skin smoothing and if that is not your thing just let me know. I never overally do it though. I never want someone to look at your photos and say “wow that was photoshopped.”
Because years from now, I don’t want you to remember a trend or altered version of you and your family.
I want you to remember your life.
I also don’t believe meaningful photography should feel rushed or overly posed. I’ll guide you when needed, but I leave space for natural interaction, movement, laughter, and emotion — because the magic usually happens somewhere in between the poses.
Photography has never been something I casually fell into. I chose this path at 18 years old, studied it in college, and have continued building and learning because I genuinely love this work. I love storytelling. I love preserving memories that become more valuable over time. I love creating an experience that feels intentional and personal.
And as a single mom, this business means even more to me. It supports my family, my children, and the life I’ve worked incredibly hard to build doing something I truly care about.
Before every session or wedding, I prepare intentionally — reviewing your vision, planning locations, thinking through details, lighting, and experience. I’m creative, but I’m also incredibly organized and intentional, and I care deeply about both the moments we capture and the experience you have while capturing them.
And honestly? My work is not for everyone.
But the right clients always seem to find me.
The ones who value connection over perfection.
The ones who care more about feeling something than following trends.
The ones who want photographs that feel timeless, emotional, and true to their story.
If that sounds like you — you’re exactly who I created this experience for. I am open to discussing tweaks in editing, but if you want something that is well off the beaten path from my style I completely understand.
